On January 28th, 2012 we released Part Two of our Google Places Eye Tracking study designed to help you get the most out of your Google Places listing. This study was carried out on the Apple iPhone using the free Google Places app.
Using mobile eye tracking technology, we recorded where people looked on the iPhone screen, and we also mapped where they clicked. From this research, we were able to make some recommendations about what businesses need to do to get the most from a Google Places listing on the iPhone, including:
- The importance of social signals
- The effect of thumbnail images
- What happens when a listing offers more clickable assets?
Download the whitepaper to view all the heat maps, click maps, and analysis of the results with recommendations on making the most of your Google Places listing on an iPhone.
Part One of the study is also available for download: Eye Tracking and Click Mapping Google Places.
